Rates
Couples: $200 per 51-60 minute session; $225 for sessions between 61 – 75 minutes. Sessions longer than 75 minutes should be the exception and will be charged at the premium rate of $350..
The relationship counseling we will engage in does not meet medical necessity criteria for insurance coverage. Insurance coverage requires an identified client and a mental health diagnosis; in our sessions the relationship is the client, not any one partner, and no mental health diagnosis is being treated. Each partner understands that our work is elective and relates to strengthening friendship and intimacy, repairing past hurts, improving communication, gaining skills in conflict resolution and creating shared dreams and meaning for which billing insurance would be fraudulent.
Payment
Clients are expected to place a credit card on file. Any charges related to a session will be charged to the card on file as will any cancellation or missed appointment fees.
Cancellation Policy & Fees
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 48 hours beforehand. If you do not cancel greater than 48 hours before your appointment, do not show for your appointment or arrive at your appointment more than 15 minutes late, you may be charged a cancellation fee of the full session rate. Exceptions to the fee are granted for medical/veterinary emergencies for client or immediate family or illness severe enough that a telehealth session is not possible (client agrees to substitute telehealth session for in-person session for less severe symptoms). I only hold my clients to standards that I would need for myself. Note that last minute work-related cancellations are not considered to be an emergency; most of us would inform an employer if there was a conflict with a medical appointment and these sessions are considered to be no different.
